Professional Mulching Across the Rochester Area
Mulch does more than look good — it suppresses weeds, retains soil moisture, moderates root temperature, and feeds the soil as it breaks down. But the difference between a DIY mulch job and a professional installation is immediately visible: crisp bed edges, consistent depth, clean borders, and no mulch on your driveway or walkways. Spartan Tree and Landscape delivers that professional result on every job.
Mulch Types We Carry
We install premium double-ground hardwood mulch — it stays in place better than single-ground or softwood, breaks down slowly, and feeds the soil as it decomposes. Available in two colors:
- Brown: Classic, understated look. Complements stone, brick, and traditional landscapes.
- Black: High contrast against green foliage. Modern, clean appearance. Most popular in newer developments.
All dyed mulches use non-toxic, iron-oxide-based colorants safe for plants, pets, and children.
What's Included in Every Mulching Job
Every installation includes bed prep (removing debris and weeds), crisp border edging along beds, walkways, and driveways, mulch spread at a consistent 2–3 inch depth, and complete cleanup of all hard surfaces. We don't just dump mulch and leave — your property is left looking golf course clean.
Pricing
Mulch is priced by the cubic yard, which covers roughly 100 square feet at 3 inches deep. Most residential properties need 5–15 yards. We provide free on-site estimates where we measure your beds, discuss color and type, and give you a firm, no-surprise price.
